The nation’s largest recreational vehicle and outdoor retailer homes in Summerfield, is to open in June at the former Porters Home and Garden Center building on U.S. 441. The 85000 square-foot building has been empty for a period of two years.
Johny Sirpilla – the chief business development officer for Camping World and Good Sam – the world’s largest RV owners organization said that after a search in Florida including Ocala, Gainesville, Inverness and Leesburg they have landed on Summerfield as the location best served all aforementioned communities.
In a statement to press, the company noted that Summerfield location is a short drive from The Villages with One of the world’s largest active communities with above 75000 residents. The Villages offer eight country clubs, 33 golf courses, a wide variety of recreational areas and every kind of active and athletic resource including archery, painting, scrapbooking, synchronized swimming, pickle ball, quilting, tae chi, yoga and much more.
Marcus Lemonis – Chairman and CEO of Camping World and Good Sam said that this close proximity to The Villages is a match made in heaven.
The camping world’s current location in Ocala, at 3550S U.S. Highway 441 will be closed with this move.
