Residents of Cibola Country planned activities to recognize 22nd April as the Earth Day. Some activities will take place before Monday and some later on, may be even in the month of May.
The Milan Village and City of Grants are continuing their Great American Clean-up Day events. Members of Albuquerque Wildlife Federation and Rio Puerco Alliance will host a camping weekend to work on restoring native wetlands in Cebolla Canyon of the EI Malpais National Conservation Area, at South of Grants. The activities start from Friday, the 19th April 2013 to Sunday, the 21st April 2013. On Saturday, the 20th May 2013, people come with various opportunities to recycle and dispose waste items.
Recycle Cibola is to offer donuts, hot coffee and gifts to people with recyclables including plastic Easter eggs. At the same time Mother Whiteside Memorial Library is hosting spring used book sale.
On 22nd April Bureau of Land Management Ranger Jenn Cutillo will present Earth Day programs to Los Alamitos Middle School science classes. The NMSU Grants campus will be hosting Earth Day on 26th April 2013.
The final Earth Day event will be hosted by Grants Great American Clean-up event on 4th May 2013.
