FreshGrass is coming up with a three-day bluegrass festival featuring a second outdoor stage, workshops, studio time and a blue grass music contest. The event goes on from 20th September to 22nd September 2013 at the Mass MoCAs, North Adams.
The performers at the festival include Alison Brown, Sam Bush, the Infamous Stringdusters and the Del McCoury Band. Manitou Media is co-producing the festival. For more information and additional performers log on to FreshGrass.com.
According to Joseph Thompso, Director of MoCA, the festival has grown vastly from 2011 to 2012. The museum added a new main stage at Joes Field near the backside of the museum complex, to accomodate more than 20 performers.
The FreshGrass Awards with $10000 cash prizes for fresh takes on bluegrass music. The top prize at the event is a recording studio time at Compass Records in Nashville and an opportunity to perform at FreshGrass in 2014.
The early bird festival passes are available at $68 for adults and $58 for students. The charges for General addmission comes to $78 for adults, $68 for students and $38 for children in the age group of 6-16. Admission for children aged 5 and under is free. The day passes for the event can be availed in the closer dates of the festival.
